Dr. Julio O. Escobar has practiced dentistry since 2008. He moved to Washington in 2015 and lives in Kirkland with his wife and 2 daughters. Dr. Escobar appreciates the balance of dedicated work through pediatric dentistry and stimulating family life with running and riding bikes with his kids. In his free time, Dr. Escobar enjoys collaborating with the Seattle Pediatric Dental Study Club, training for marathons, coaching his kids to play soccer, and movie time with the family.
As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Escobar strives to improve the oral health of children from infancy through the teen years. He believes early intervention, education and prevention are pillars to creating healthy smiles and patients who are comfortable in the dental setting. Those efforts are also key to establishing long lasting habits and routines while minimizing the possibilities of dental fear or anxiety. Behavior management and careful attention to parenting styles and family systems are important in determining the best approach for providing dental care for the very young, pre-teens and teenagers. Dr. Escobar knows this both as a pediatric dentist and as a parent. His office staff and environment will be oriented toward providing a place where children of all ages can feel comfortable.
Dr. Escobar appreciates the intersection of empathetic, efficient, and conscientious clinical care with evidence-based and research-supported treatment modalities. After obtaining an undergraduate education at the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2000, Dr. Escobar spent formative time as a researcher involved in the Human Genome Project at Stanford University. He then attended some of the best dental training programs in the nation. He obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of California, San Francisco in 2008 and completed a Pediatric Dental Residency at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2015. Dr. Escobar was one of two Chief Residents in his UCLA cohort. Dr. Escobar became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2016. He is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He has established himself as a contributing member of the greater Seattle pediatric dental professionals.
The biggest assets Dr. Escobar can contribute to the growth of his private practice are adaptability, empathy and work ethic. His experience in competitive markets like Arizona, California, Illinois and Washington have provided experience in Staff management, bedside manner and experience in how to integrate productively into his community.
